  • DO I NEED A DOCTOR'S REFERRAL TO SEE A PHYSIOTHERAPIST?
No, you do not need a doctor's referral to see a physiotherapist because a physiotherapist is a primary healthcare provider. However, some insurance providers may need a doctor's referral in order for you to be reimbursed.
  • MY DOCTOR REFERRED ME TO ANOTHER CLINIC. CAN I STILL COME TO INSTEP?
    Yes, you sure can!
  • ARE PHYSIOTHERAPY SERVICES COVERED BY OHIP?
OHIP does provide some coverage to persons 65 and over, and 19 and younger, those on ODSP, long-term care facilities, or some persons who have been treated in hospital overnight. If you do qualify, you will have to go to one of the few registered OHIP clinics in Toronto. InStep is not an OHIP registered clinic.
  • ARE YOU ABLE TO BILL MY INSURANCE PROVIDER DIRECTLY?
Unfortunately, the clinic is not set up to direct bill insurance companies. Our patients pay at the end of their visit and we provide a detailed receipt which they can submit to their insurance provider for reimbursement.
