Pediatric Foot Care
The first years of a child's life are important regarding the development of their feet. Because a child's foot is so soft and supple, abnormal pressure can result in deformities.
Common problems among infants and young children include flat feet, toe walking and in-toeing. Common complaints among older children include heel pain/Sever's Disease, knee pain/Osgood-Schlatter Disease, fungal/bacterial infections, warts and ingrown nails.
As a parent, it is good practice to monitor the feet of your children. Signs that may indicate a problem include pain, uneven shoe wear, bumps on the feet, complaints of pain in the foot or ankles and tripping and falling.
